James B. “Benny” Richards, 84, of Ocean Pines died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Guiding Hands Assisted Living in Berlin. Born in Washington, D.C. he was the son of the late James and Virginia Nelson Richards.
Benny was retired from the Washington D. C. Police Department. He attended Berlin First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jacqueline Y. Richards; children, Gayle V. Amos, and Tyrone S Richards (LaJauna); three grandchildren, Eric Moore and Evan and Tanner Richards. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Narine E. Moore.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2PM at Berlin First Baptist Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Brad Diehl will officiate. Interment will be held Monday at 1PM at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Suitland, MD.
