She graduated from Wicomico High in 1951. Joann worked as a secretary in the medical field for forty five years and was a private secretary to Dr. Nevins W. Todd, Jr where she retired in 1998.
She enjoyed singing in choirs at St. John’s UM Church in Fruitland and Asbury UM Church in Salisbury. Joann also was a member of The Community Singers.
She is survived by her brother, Jerry Smith and his wife, Beverly, and nephew Matt Smith and his wife, Nikki. Her greatest love was Matt and Nikki’s children. She was preceded in death by her devoted sister, Malvina Smith.
A memorial service will be held at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2:00pm where friends may call an hour prior. Rev. Bill Sterling will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joann to the Choirs at St. John’s UM Church or Asbury UM Church.
