Born on February 20, 1943, in Queen Anne’s County, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Grant.
Maryann spent the majority of her life in Salisbury, Maryland. She was a dedicated supervisor at Kmart for over 30 years until her retirement in 2005, after which she moved to Florida in 2010, returning to Maryland in 2014.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, John Gillespie, Sr. who describes her as the love of his life and is looking forward to being reunited with Mariann and Jesus in heaven. She is also survived by her children: daughters Linda (Cary) Slipper and Sue (Evan) Keller, and her son John (Lisa) Gillespie, Jr. She leaves behind two grandchildren, David and Justin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 4:30 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church, 214 Maple Way, Salisbury, MD 21804 followed by a reception. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the celebration. Rev. Janice Hathaway will be officiating.
