Michael Garnett Sautter, 38, of Delmar, DE lost his battle with drug addiction the early morning of Saturday, September 26, 2015. Michael was born on July 7, 1977 to Wanda Lynn North, of Delmar, DE & the late Michael R. Sautter of Salisbury, MD. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his step-father, Ronnie North, and niece Jessica Workman. Michael leaves behind his loving mother Wanda Lynn North; sisters Tammy Broadhurst (Craig Broadhurst) of Delmar, DE, Michelle Elias (Rick Elias) of Orlando, FL, and Catie Trussell stationed in Alaska with the the United Stated Air Force; nephews, Chris Workman (Lindsey workman), Chase Broadhurst, both of Delmar and Brent Elias of Orlando, FL; One niece, Taylor Broadhurst of Salisbury, MD. Michael is expecting a son in March 2016 with Amber Banks of Laurel, DE. He was also survived by 2 great nieces, Addie Visele & Harper Workman & a great nephew, Kash Workman. Michael married Elizabeth Acker of Salisbury in 2005 and although they have been separated, they remained close friends. Michael leaves behind several lifelong friends, including B.J Simmons (Charlie Simmons) of Delmar, MD. Michael was loved by many and considered by most as 'Uncle Mike'. Michael fought for many years to overcome his battle with addiction, and even though the addiction eventually won, it never completely stole the heart and soul that was Mikey. His love for his family, blood or not, his loyalty to his precious football team, The Philadelphia Eagles & his undeniable charisma was something to be envied. Unfortunately, addiction knows no bounds, and despite the mentality that “it would never happen to me”, the consequences of this epidemic struck home. As proven here, no matter how good the heart, how bright the sparkle, drugs seek out to destroy families and lives. Despite his own struggles, Michael tried helping anyone he could. The family hopes that Michael’s passing won't be in vein, and that someone's life can be spared from this tragedy. If you or anyone you know suffers from this disease, please know you're not alone and help is always available. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Christ Community Church, 38238 Old Stage Rd, Delmar, DE 19940 at 6pm. The family requests those that are able to attend the memorial service, join them for a time of fellowship after the Memorial Service at the Church. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.boundsfuneralhome.com
