Sedrick Hurley, “Jr.” 79, of Hebron passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at his home. Born in Cambridge he was the son of the late Sedrick Hurley, Sr. and Ethel Mae Hurley.
“Jr.” has been a farmer all of his life and collected toy farm machinery. In his younger days he enjoyed drag racing. Along with his friends Tommy Messick and Leroy Martin, chartered the Mason Dixon Classic Chevy Club. He was a collector and restorer of 1957 Chevy’s and enjoyed going to car shows with the club and the many friendships made over the many years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann Hurley; three children, Patricia Annette Hurley Robertson, Steven Gary Hurley and his wife Tina, and Tammy Joy Senn and her husband James; six grandchildren, Amy Walker and her husband Zack, Shelby Griffin and her husband Seth, Malinda Hurley, Zachary Walbert and his partner Rachel Harrison, Corina Walbert and her partner Matt Webb, Brandon Walbert and his partner Amber Dorsey; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Hurley; sister-in-law, Martha Cord; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved Red 57’ Chevy that he has owned and driven since 1959.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Charles Robertson
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury. Rev. Dave Bennett will officiate. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday evening from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home and Sunday one hour prior to the service.
