Alice Bertha Cardenas

Beloved Alice Bertha Ramon passed into Eternity Saturday morning, August 8, 2021. Born in San Antonio, TX, on October 12, 1923, to Manuel Ramon of San Marcos, TX and Herminia Cantu of Mexico. She had two sisters, Emma Velia Durham and Rebecca Weber.

Married to Horace Cardenas, Alice had six children, preceded in death by three: Manuel, at birth, Cynthia Buecker (Bernard), and Elaine Cardenas. She is survived by sons Kenneth Cardenas (Rosemary)and Russell Cardenas, daughter, Frances Cardenas-Landswick, two grandchildren, Benjamin and Nina Cardenas, one great-grandchild Lily, nephews Charles and James Durham, Jason Weber, their children, and many cousins including Janice Cantu, and the families of Roy Barrera, Sr., Gilbert and Steve Barrera.

Alice loved dance and music throughout her entire life. A member of St. Paul's Choir for over two decades, she was an organist for weekend Masses. In her early fifties she completed college at Our Lady of the Lake University and became a bi-lingual school teacher at Agnes Cotton Elementary.

We all miss her dearly.

Visitation is Tuesday, 5:00 pm, August 17, 2021, with Rosary 7:00 pm Roy Akers Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass is Wednesday, August 18, 10:00 am St. Paul's Catholic Church.
