Born on May 23, 1955, in San Antonio, Alton was a lifelong resident of the city he loved. He graduated from Dillard McCollum High School in 1973 and went on to work as a Pest Control Technician, a profession he dedicated himself to for most of his life.
Alton had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was an avid pigeon racer and found great joy in fishing and camping—activities that brought him peace and lifelong friendships.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Barbara Heckman.
Alton is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Heckman; his sons, Nathan and Brandon; grandchildren Tryce, Cadee, Aubri, and Allie; and his great-grandchild, Ravion. He is also survived by his sisters, Eunice Myrick and Mary Ann Capps, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation for Alton will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205, followed by a memorial service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
