

Andres S. DeLeon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, entered rest on December 19, 2012 at the age of 91. Andres was a native of San Antonio born to Nicolas and Adela DeLeon on February 5, 1921. Mr. DeLeon honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict retiring in 1965 after 22 years of service. Following retirement, he worked 10 years as a Baker for Civil Service and retired in 1975. In 1989, Mr. DeLeon became a member of the Knights of Columbus, Chapter 1102 achieving his Fourth Degree in 2002. Andres was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Diamantina; their children: Diana Potter and husband Lon, Andres M. DeLeon and wife Rebecca, Carmen DeLeon-Dingman and husband Jack, Teresa DeLeon; grandchildren: Michelle, Michael, Andrew, Nicole, Devin, Mariah, Nicolas, Christopher, Ryan and Ray; brother Raymond DeLeon; numerous other relatives and friends. He will be remembered by his family for his generosity, kindness and love for his family. Andres never met a stranger and was always willing to help when needed. The family will receive friends at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2012 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
