Bernice Willie Alford, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at the age of 93. She was born in Baxley, Georgia to parents Willie and Sallie McLain, on June 25, 1919. Bernice will always be remembered for the love and dedication she held for her family and she will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Walter K. Alford, four brothers and two sisters. Bernice is survived by her daughters, Jaye Alford and her husband Rick Mahoney of Pearland, Texas, and Barbara Redman and her husband Mick Redman of Mentor Ohio; seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah Coursey of Brunswick, Georgia; brother, Eddie McLain of Colorado City, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at Valley Hi First Baptist Church, 6623 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, Texas, on Monday, December 3, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held the following morning, Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, Texas.
