Catalina O. Murguia (Katie), 84, of San Antonio Texas, Went to be with the Lord on Saturday November 4, 2017. Katie was very active in various Catholic Churches Including fund raising Fiesta Queen at San Fernando Cathedral in 1951. As a member at Little Flower Basilica, she was involved with the Brown Scapular, Hija De Maria, Eucharist Minister, Collection Management member, Holy Name society, Alter Society, Member of the Basilica Celebration organizing committee, and various fund raising activates.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Murguia and sister of Artemio A. Ortega, Rosario Perez, Angie O. Vasquez, Jesus Ortega, and the late Yolanda O. Garcia and Salvador Ortega Jr. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday November 16, 2017 at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main Ave San Antonio, TX from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday November 17, 2017 at Little Flower Basilica 1715 N Zarzamora, San Antonio, TX at 9:00 a.m. followed by the burial services at Fort Sam Houston.
