Dwight Alan James, age 80, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Dwight was born in New Braunfels, Texas on September 21, 1944 to Johnnie Evelyn and Dwight C. James. He cared for his family and enjoyed photography and playing pool with his friends. He served in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton during the Vietnam War as a Radio Operator, Security Forces, and Reconnaissance.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Evie. Dwight is survived by his wife of 19 years, Maria James; Son Thad K. James; and grandchildren, Crystal James, Sophi Yannuzzi and Carolina Yannuzzi.
A visitation for Dwight will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N Main Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78205. A funeral mass will occur Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at San Fernando Cathedral, 115 Main Plaza, San Antonio, Texas 78205. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
