With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of ELIA FLORES VILLARREAL on August 31, 2024, at the age of 92 years, 11 months. Born on October 5, 1931 in EAGLE PASS, TX, Elia was a woman of boundless curiosity and an adventurer at heart. Throughout her life, she believed in the power of learning, embracing challenges, and wasn’t afraid to make mistakes along the way. She lived her life as a realist with a dreamers heart.
Her travels took her across the United States, though she never made it to Paris, the City of Light, which remained a symbol of her adventurous heart and constant desire to explore the world beyond the norm.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother always thinking about her family first. She loved trying new foods, riding the Brackenridge Park Train, walking the San Antonio Botanical Gardens and Japanese Sunken Tea Gardens, along with taking in every stray that showed up at her home. She also enjoyed her music and Pro Wrestling on weekdays. Most of all, she loved visiting all the Missions every season and sitting in the pews with a little prayer for all.
She is survived by her children, Mary, Virgil and Diana, her grandchild Vanessa and sons-in-law Roberto and Robert.
