Elias Rivas, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, entered rest on June 29, 2014 at the age of 88. He was a native of San Antonio, born to Elias and Maria Rivas. Mr. Rivas honorably served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Sweeten and is survived by his wife, Gloria; their children; son, Ernest Rivas and wife Fe; daughter, Rose Marie Cortez and husband Roger; sister, Noemi Evans; brothers, Armando Rivas, Sr., Richard Rivas; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 7, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
