Eloise L. Stowe

Eloise Stowe of Lakehills, TX, wife of Major Norman L. "Butch" Stowe, USA, passed away on 6 June 2015 after a brief illness She was born in Zavala, TX, 26 August 1922 to parents Robert Locke and Lilly née Barge, Locke. After graduating from high school she worked briefly in San Antonio as a telephone operator where she met her husband and the love of her life, Butch. It took only eight dates when they knew that they were a perfect match, and married. They spent the next 21 years traveling all over the world with the U.S. Army, to Japan, Germany, Korea and multiple places in the United States until their retirement in 1963. Once retired they returned home to San Antonio where they lived until they moved to Corpus Christi where her husband went to work for ARADMAC as a test pilot for the Army's helicopter overhaul facility at CCAD/NAS Corpus Christi. After retiring from CCAD, they built a home on Medina Lake, Lakehills where they remained until this day. Eloise was a person who was always happy and found good in everything. She could always be counted on to help out whenever she saw the need. She was Army all the way, a devoted Cowboys and Spurs fan and could always be counted on to lead the charge at any Super Bowl game. Eloise was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, "Butch," in 2011. She is survived by her son Steven Lee his wife Patricia, grandson Steven and his wife Rachel, great-grandson Steven Ray, her daughter, Elizabeth Jeanne White, her niece Tracy Cusack her husband Chuck and children, niece, Stacy Vaughan and husband Bill and children, her nephew Michael Locke and his wife Betty, special friends, Mark and Cathy Stevens of Kennebunk, Maine, David and Sandy Mauer of Lakehills, Lee and Lenna Newnam of Bandera and many other lifelong friends, who love and will miss her. The funeral will be held at Del Angel, Roy Akers 515 N. Main Ave, San Antonio, TX. 78205 on 16 June, 2015, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be sent in her name to the American Legion PR 37 , Post 410, Lakehills TX 78063.
