Evangelina V. Martinez

Evangelina Martinez of Seguin, Texas, passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 14, 1944, Evangelina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to Richard Martinez Jr. for 57 years, and together they built a strong and loving family.

Evangelina is survived by her husband, Richard Martinez Jr.; her children, Elizabeth Geltman and husband Andrew, Joseph Martinez and wife Ulrika, James Martinez, and Gabriel Martinez and wife Janette. She was the proud grandmother of Gabriella Martinez, Elijah Johansson, Corey Martinez, Jonas Martinez, Victoria Martinez, Esperanza Geltman, Marissa Martinez, Johanna Martinez and Jacob Geltman as well as the cherished great-grandmother of six.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gilbert Martinez; her parents, Salvador Vidales Jr. and Pilar Maria Vidales; her grandson, Sean Martinez; and her siblings, Cipriana Robles, Maria Fernandez, and Jose Vidales.

Evangelina's life was marked by her nurturing spirit and deep faith. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, and reading scripture. Her devotion to her family and her love of sharing her talents will always be remembered.

She will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, care, and faith will live on in all who knew her.
