

Francisco M. Morales, 79, died at his home on September 13, 2011. He was born on August 22, 1932, on a dairy farm in Von Ormy, Texas to Felis T. and Tomasa M. Morales. He graduated from Edgewood High School and later earned a degree from St. Phillip’s College. Mr. Morales enlisted in the military and served his country concurrently in the U.S. Air Force and civil service at Kelly AFB for a combined 39 years, including several overseas tours. He was a member of the 433rd Airlift Wing Operations Squadron. Mr. Morales was a member of the John F. Kennedy American Legion, Post 485, for 33 years and held several offices in executive leadership. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carmen M. Morales; sister, Virginia Morales; daughters, Evangelina Jimenez and husband Canuto, Norma Morales Arias and husband Alfred; sons, Frank Morales and wife Nelda, Michael Morales; grandchildren: Richard Jimenez and wife Elisa, Nancy Jimenez and husband George, Bianca Van Ausdall and husband AJ, Geoffrey Arias, Nick Morales and Milena Arias; great-grandchildren: Richard, Cyann, Lathan, Draylen and Brooklyn. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2011 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
