Guadalupe Hinojosa Davila, affectionately known to everyone as Tia Lupe, passed away on June 3, 2025, peacefully at home at the age of 88. Born on April 10, 1937, to Sigifredo Davila and Leonor Hinojosa Davila, she was one of seven siblings and the beloved matriarch of the Davila family.
Tia Lupe’s life was a testament to kindness, devotion, and unwavering love for her family. She was always ready to lend a helping hand without hesitation, and her nurturing spirit made her more than an aunt—she was a second mother to her many nieces and nephews.
She dedicated much of her life to real estate, working with Gonzalez Realty. In her younger years, she was a proud Hija de Maria at San Fernando Cathedral and participated in numerous beauty pageants, winning several. Her family also owned and operated a neighborhood grocery store, further deepening her roots in the community.
A devout Catholic, Tia Lupe found strength and solace in prayer, faithfully praying the rosary throughout each day for her family. Her faith extended to service, volunteering for many years with the St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church Food Bank and St. Vincent de Paul.
Tia Lupe found joy in every family gathering and was immensely proud of her nieces’ and nephews’ accomplishments, never missing an opportunity to share their successes with others. No one ever left her home without receiving her loving blessing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sigifredo and Leonor Davila, and her siblings: Mary Alice Salinas (Frank), Oralia Reyes (Joe), Eva Muñoz (Max), David Davila (Alicia), and Jose Daniel Davila (Eva). She is survived by her sister Dora Caldera (David), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will continue to honor her legacy.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. Tia Lupe will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
The family would like to thank La Diferencia Hospice, Dr. Cisneros, Marta, and Linda.
