James Perez

James Cantu Perez, born August 5, 1925; passed away September 7, 2010 after a long illness. Mr. Perez was the youngest and only remaining survivor of ten brothers and sisters born to Francisco Perez and Maria Tones Cantu. At the time of death, he was surrounded by his wife and children. Surviving Mr. Perez are his wife Mary Louise (married 64 years September 8, 2010); daughters and sons (spouses): Mary Esther Navaira (Louis), Albert G. Perez (Mary Helen), Daniel G. Perez (Elda), Mary Diane Sanchez (Francisco), Samuel G. Perez (Evelyn), and Cindy Marie Villela (Manuel). (12) Grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Perez-Garcia (Mario), Jason Louis Navaira, Kristy Marie Pellegrino (Enzo II), James Albert Perez, James Robert Villela, Hilarie Janelle Perez, Andrew Perez, Natalie Perez, Jonathan Villela, Tiffany Giselle Perez, Joshua Villela, Victoria Louise Sanchez; (2) Great grandchildren: Gavin Michael Garcia and Enzo Pellegrino III. Mr. Perez served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and saw extensive action in the Pacific Theatre. He was a carpenter by trade, General Contractor and Home Builder. He also loved his Hill Country Ranch and to travel the states with his wife in their travel trailer. He loved his family, friends and country. He was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back in less than a moments notice--extremely kind, thoughtful and caring. He will be missed by his family and friends. A Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church.
