Jesus “Jesse” Ventura Trujillo was called to be with the Lord on July 24, 2022 at the age of 70. Chuy, as known to his family, was born on July 14, 1952 in Laredo, Texas to Manuel and Domitila Trujillo. He is preceded in death by his parents and longtime companion Alma Garza. He is survived by his siblings Jose (Marina), Gloria (Rosendo), Terry (Robert), Tomas (Maggie); nieces and nephews, Patricia (Joshua), Leticia (Raymond), Jose (Pauline), Rosendo (Araceli), Laura, Robert (Maria), Rebecca (Chris), Gabriella; and 14 great nieces and nephews.
Jesse graduated from Burbank High School in 1970 and after graduation joined the United States Army. While serving in the military Jesse specialized in electronic intercept and was last stationed in Okinawa. Later he held various jobs to include Dillard’s, Frost Bank and USAA. In 1980, Jesse was hired by the City of San Antonio as an Airport Police Officer. He then continued his career in law enforcement with the San Antonio Independent School District where he served as a Police Officer from 1987 until his retirement in 2012.
Jesse was an avid gun, coin and watch collector. He could often be found at a gun show or searching for the best barbeque with his friends. Jesse also loved going to the movies especially to watch something action packed.
Jesse will be remembered and missed most for his playful and joking manner, as well as his willingness to help others.
A visitation for Jesus will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 starting at 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78205. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will occur Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:30 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1314 Fair Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78223 with burial following at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
It is encouraged by the funeral home and church that masks be worn during services while in the building.
