Joe V. De La Cruz, 78, went to be with his Lord on May 12, 2017. Joe was a kind hearted man with a beautiful personality, and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved traveling, going to Vegas twice a year, and was a member of the Fabulous 50’s club. He never had a negative outlook on life, and was grateful to his niece Cynthia for the kidney she provided. He met his wife Margaret at a high school dance, and they were high school sweethearts and they were married in 1959. He is preceded in death by his parents: Santiago De La Cruz and Josefina Holguin, and sister Hermina Rodrigues. He is survived by his wife: Margaret De La Cruz; daughter: Marisa Jo; grandchildren: Rosemary, Alexander and Emerald; siblings: Christina, Severo, Rosa, Josie, Alex and Imelda.
Visitation will be at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers 515 N. Main Ave. on Monday May 22 from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. The chapel service will be on Tuesday May 23, at 8:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
