Jose "Joe" Ortega Robledo

Jose “Joe” Ortega Robledo, age 91, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Joe was born on February 15, 1930 to Soledad Ortega and Antonio De Cruz Robledo in Poth, Texas.

Joe and Olivia were married for 52 years before she passed away in 2004. He enlisted in the U.S. Army twice deployed in 1951 & 1954, proudly serving our country in the Korean War. He worked at York International until he retired in 1994. After retirement Joe enjoyed working on his lawn and spending time in his mancave creating metal and wood artwork. You could find him playing Lotteria with his sisters and friends at the local Senior Centers on a weekly basis. They loved taking him on Casino trips, to dances and just listening to music. He loved spending time with his family playing Lotteria and any other type of games. He loved watching westerns and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Olivia, both of his parents, Soledad and Antonio, his sister, Crescencia “Chris”; his brother, Antonio “Tony”; his youngest son, Ernesto; and his Grandson, Joey “BooBoo.” He is survived by his 4 children, Joe, Gloria Manint, Gilbert, and Roger; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

A visitation for Joe will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. The funeral service will occur Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 11:30 AM at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd, San Antonio, TX 78228 with burial to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
