

Mrs. Josephine Georges, born in San Antonio, Texas on September 16, 1925 returned home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2011. A native of San Antonio, she was born to Julian B. and Mary Martinez on September 16,1925. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Alfonzo A. Georges, and a brother, Julian C. Martinez. Josie was a devoted wife, homemaker and loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Josie, in her teens played in the local softball leagues on teams coached by her father, playing against the top players of her day. She is survived by her brother, Joe C. Martinez and her children; Al Georges and wife Sheryl, Robert Georges and wife Diana, Joyce and husband John Paul, Lou Georges and wife Rachel; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. She never hesitated in helping and providing guidance to her four children and their spouses. In her younger days she was an active member of various PTA's with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed helping others while doing without for herself. She would always put other's needs ahead of her own whether family, friend, or stranger. She will be greatly missed by all who were graced by her kindness, love and generosity. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Memorial Service, celebrating her 85 years of life at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Lupe Gallardo of Believers Family Worship Center.
