

Julia Marion Lawson Hooper, 88, of San Antonio, TX, entered rest on November 20, 2013. She was born in Eastland TX on June 21, 1925 to Royce Earl and Lillie Lawson. She married Wallace Lee Hooper on January 23, 1946, who preceded her in death on September 1, 1991. Julia was a member of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church. She was a talented artist who loved to cook, take care of her precious pets, and spend time with her beloved family. Julia was selfless, charming, kind, and loving, with a wonderful sense of humor; an incredible role model, who set the bar exceedingly high for her children. In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Royce Lawson, Jr.; grandson, Ryan Lee Phillip Hooper. Julia is survived and will be greatly missed by her sister, Ruth Daffern; three children: Connie, Roger, and Richard, and their spouses; four grandchildren and one great grandson. A funeral celebrating her life will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 at 9:00 a.m., at Laurel Heights UMC, 227 W. Woodlawn (78212). A reception will follow at the church. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at Eastland Cemetery in Eastland, Texas. Her children are deeply grateful for the loving care Julia received at Pipestone Assisted Living. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave., 7th floor, NY, NY 10001.
