Leola McMeans Finger

Leola Finger went to be with Jesus on March 7 at age 98. She was born in Edna, Texas to Amos McMeans and Jimmie Bartlett who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by husband Ira Finger and her brother and two sisters. She is survived by her son James Finger (Lucy), her daughters Jane Strauss (Hank), Julia Olene (Gary), and Jaye Potter (Danny) and by her 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Leola was a consummate seamstress making her children’s clothes often copied from pictures. She could knit, crotchet, quilt and tat lace making exceptional gifts for family and friends. She hand made her grandchildren’s christening dresses putting tatted lace on them. She made numerous intricately detailed wedding dresses.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, 4pm-7pm at Del Angel-Roy Akers. A service will be held at the funeral home Friday, March 13, 10:00 AM followed by burial at San Fernando. Family thanks the staff at Morningside Kaulbach for all their care and the caregivers of Vitas Hospice.
