On Saturday, August 9, 2025, she completed her journey and is now at peace with God. Friends and family describe the multi-talented wife and mother as loving, creative, eclectic, energetic, determined, quirky, fearless and fun. Her world was centered around her family—both immediate and extended.
She was the hardest working person—both professionally and at home.
She worked her way up to Team Lead at Caterpillar San Antonio over her nine-year tenure.
As the family’s social director, she orchestrated outings to community events from Fiesta in San Antonio to Christmas wonderlands in nearby towns.
Her talent for event planning was legendary, from themed birthday parties to holiday décor created from the ground up. On her favorite holiday, Halloween, she designed and helped install elaborate yard scenes and outfitted the whole family in coordinated costumes, such as the Addams Family. No detail was too small, no task too challenging for her creative touch.
She was an aficionado of horror movies and politics and was not afraid to voice her opinions on either. A favorite memento was a signed poster from her favorite horror villain, Freddy Krueger.
Mandy enjoyed shopping estate sales for intriguing items. She had a knack for arranging them with family mementos and pop culture items in striking displays.
She loved the outdoors whether working in the yard, taking the kids to the park or camping at state parks. She had no problem getting her hands dirty cleaning a dusty deer lease cabin then getting dolled up for a night out.
In an age of texting and social media, Mandy prized handwritten notes. She grew up expressing herself through poetry and creative writing and loved making thank you and appreciation cards with original drawings and handwritten messages.Mandy was born Mandy Louise Revilla Paiz May 27, 1984, in San Antonio to Maria Janitzia Paiz and Frank Paiz.
She graduated from Kennedy High School in 2002. She met her true love Zane Goodspeed in 2013 and they married in 2018. The couple and her two daughters joyously welcomed additions to their tight-knit family — a daughter in 2019 and a son in 2022.
Mandy’s father, Frank Paiz, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her immediate family, loving husband Zane Goodspeed; daughters Julie Ann Paiz Mendez, Ashley May Paiz Mendez and Jessie Paige Goodspeed; and son Trent John Goodspeed.
She also is survived by her mother Maria Janitzia Paiz and stepfather Arthur Lopez; brothers Frank Paiz Jr. (and wife, Victorya Marsh), James Paiz (and wife, Ld Alcala-Paiz), and Paul Paiz (and wife, Margo Paiz); grandmother Janitzia Romero Pereyra; and eight nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N. Main Ave., San Antonio, TX 78205. Visitation will be from 5–6 p.m., followed by a remembrance ceremony from 6–7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged in Mandy’s honor to Blanco Cowboy Church at blancocowboychurch.com or P.O. Box 665, Blanco, TX 78606.
