Maria Concepcion "Conchita" Presas

Conchita was received by our Lord on April 16, 2016 at age of 88. She was born on August 4,1927 in Monterrey, Mexico to Pablo and Cruz Martinez.

A devout believer in Christ, Maria served Our Lord in her young adult years with the Missionary Sisters of Divine Providence on Castroville Rd for 19 Years.

She was a long standing member of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower and active member of the Arch Confraternity of the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Maria continued her life with her husband, Ruben Presas until his death.

She was humble, caring and cheerful to all who were blessed to know her. Maria always had a smile on her face. She truly enjoyed praying the Rosary daily with her sister, Elena M. Cardenas, and others in her community. Some of her passions were gardening, sewing and she was an excellent cook for many years. Her belief in God is what sustained her throughout her life. Maria is preceded in death by her Husband, Ruben Presas; her parents, Pablo and Cruz Martinez; her infant sibling brother, Guillermo and brother, Servando Martinez; Sister- in -law, Angelica Martinez; Brother- in- law, Felix Cardenas; nephew, Gerardo Cardenas, all of whom were dear to her. Maria is survived by her sisters, Graciela Martinez and Elena Cardenas; step son, Johnny Presas and wife Lupe. She will be remembered lovingly by her numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on April 27, 2016 beginning at 9:30 am at The Bacilica of the Little Flower with a Mass following. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.
