

Maria Del Carmen Ramirez entered eternal rest in San Antonio, Texas on November 24, 2016 at the age of 79. Born in Monterrey, Mexico on August 9, 1937 to Aucensio and Carmen Velasquez, she now reunites with her parents; sister Refugia Ovalle; and grandson Cason Ramirez. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Valentin Ramirez; daughter Debra Santiago (Pedro Estrada); son Adrian Ramirez; grandchildren: Anthony Santiago, Lorenzo Blanco, Mario Blanco, Mary Sedillo; siblings: Jesus Velasquez, Yolanda Gaitan, Consuelo De Los Reyes, Angelica Sandoval; and numerous other relatives and friends. Maria was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for many years. She found great comfort in making others happy and putting a smile on their face. Maria had a go-getter type of attitude who worked hard throughout her life making sure everyone was happy and taken care of. She had a special place in many hearts especially her neighbors, extended family, and friends. She was generous with her thoughts and time, and her most memorable times were spent taking care of her grandchildren and loved ones. The family will receive guests on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Waelder Community Cemetery in Waelder, Texas.
