He is survived by sons Javier and Hector Muñiz; grandchildren Lyric Hinson Muñiz, Emilio Ledezma, Kistan Muñiz, and Javier Muñiz Jr.; great-grandchildren Domnyk Ledezma, Victor Hernandez, and Alexis Hernandez; one great-great grandchild; and stepchildren Ana Esparza, Irma Esparza Ford, Mario Esparza, and Robert Esparza.
To have known Mariano was to witness a life filled with compassion, perseverance, and light. He taught us to pray hard, love harder, and to never ever let our food get cold.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A visitation for Mariano will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the service beginning at 6:30pm at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N Main Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78205. Burial will follow on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
