

Mike Solis Baez III, a proud San Antonio native, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, at the age of 93. Mike was born on December 15, 1931, and lived a life filled with dedication, service, and joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Margaret Baez of 75yrs of marriage; his son, Michael Augustine Baez; and his daughter-in-law, Ana Maria Baez. Mike also leaves behind his loving siblings: Sylvia R. Nichols, Miguel Antonio Baez, Jorge Baez, and Tave Guzman. He was a beloved grandfather to Michael Augustine Jr. Baez, Melissa Ann Bernal & husband Andrew E. Bernal and Monica Ann Velarde & husband Christopher A. Velarde and a cherished great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. He is also remembered fondly by four nieces and five nephews.
Mike proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and the United States Army. A retired LVN of Thirty years from TX Department of MHMR. A man of many talents, he had a deep passion for music and dance. He was an accomplished guitar player and a beloved dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, where he shared his love of movement and rhythm with others. His joyful spirit was infectious, and he brought music and dance into the lives of everyone around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Little Flower Basilica, a place close to Mike’s heart.
A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on July 23, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with Rosary commencing at 7:00 p.m. at Roy Akers Funeral Home 515 N Main Ave, San Antonio, Tx., Followed by Funeral Mass & Committal at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Little Flower Basilica 906 Kentucky, San Antonio, Tx., Committal to follow at 11:30am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, Tx.
Mike will be remembered for his warmth, talent, and unwavering love for his family and community. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
