Pamela K. Wright

Pamela Kay Higgs Wright, age 61 was a loving mother of 1 (Melinda), adoring mother in law of 1 (Javier), grandmother of 7 (Danielle, Thomas, Andrew, Javier III, Nayeli, Jazelle and Gaven) and great grandmother of 1 (Jrue), devoted and finally official wife of husband Dwayne Ellis Wright and carried many other titles friend, sister in law, daughter in law, co-worker, etc, all of which she took pride in. Pam passed away in the afternoon on May 23, 2023 in her home after a courageous battle with uterine cancer.

Pam was born on May 12, 1962 to Merrilynn Connell and Ezra Higgs. She has one brother Terry Wayne Higgs and 2 nieces (Ashley and Heather). Pam was a loving and caring person that loved taking care of others. She went to school to be a certified nurses aide and took care of the elderly in a nursing home for many years until she physically couldn’t. After that she took a job at Goodwill where she discovered her talent for decorating and would set up displays for the different holidays out of the items donated.

Pam was diagnosed with uterine cancer on January 28, 2023. No one knew that this cancer was going to be so aggressive and that she didn’t have much time left. After multiple hospitals stays and only one round of chemo followed by multiple more hospitals stays it was determined she couldn’t do anymore chemo. At that point her family decided taking her home to be comfortable was what was best for her.

Pam will be greatly missed by many. Her family is still grieving and will be for many days to come but only find comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and their special guardian angel.

A visitation for Pamela will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 12:30 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A committal service will occur Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 1:45 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. A reception will occur Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 2:30 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205.
