Richard R. Sanchez (Rick)

Richard R. Sanchez (Rick), age 63, took his last breath and entered the gates of Heaven, Sunday, October 20, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Rick was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Rick was a successful businessman and restaurant owner until he retired for health reasons in 2006. More importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Arturo Sanchez, Sr.; brother, Roger Sanchez; brother-in-law, Rudy Mendoza and his wife’s parents, Mike and Virginia De La Garza. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Hope Sanchez; daughters, Laura Sanchez Juarez (Russell), Ricci Sanchez Hampton (Greg); 8 grandchildren: Joshua, Sabrina, Jesse Ray, Renee, Daniella, Russell Moses, Jon and Marina Belen; 3 great-grandchildren and 2 more on the way. Rick is also survived by his mother, Maria Sanchez, 99 years old; sister, Margaret Mendoza; brothers, Arturo Sanchez (Alice); Albert Sanchez (Brenda); as well as many nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Ozzie. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.
