Ysidro M Cardenas; beloved husband, father and grandfather, entered eternal rest on December 25, 2014 at the age of 87. Born in Converse, TX to Eduvijas and Aurelia Cardenas on March 14, 1927, he now joins his parents and son Gilbert A. Cardenas in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Cardenas; children: Linda McGowen, Richard Cardenas, Oscar Cardenas; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Ysidro proudly served our country in the Air Force during WWII conflict. He retired from Kelly Air Force Base after serving 37 faithful years as an Air Flight Technician. He was also a lifelong member of VFW post 9186 and will be missed dearly by his loved ones. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Thursday, January 1, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate a 10:00 Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1710 Clower.
