

He was born in Bayview, Texas, on August 29, 1936, the second oldest of twelve children. Aureliano proudly served in the United States Army from September 1961 to 1963. He later became a volunteer firefighter for the City of Port Isabel, Texas.
Aureliano was a commercial fisherman, a skilled carpenter, and a master of many trades. He was an avid hunter and loved bay fishing, especially with his family and friends. He enjoyed recounting stories from his younger years with his siblings and parents. A devoted husband and father, he will be deeply missed.
One of his favorite quotes was:
"If you give me a lever and a place to stand, I can move the world." – Archimedes
Aureliano is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Carolina Vasquez Silva; his sisters, Maria Martinez and Irma Silva; his brothers, Antonio Jr. and Gilberto Silva; and his great-grandchildren Hailey Rae Saldivar, Carlos Adrian Luna, Anderson Raphael Salazar, and Madelynn Martinez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Luisa Silva, and their children: Maria Saldivar (Gerardo), Aureliano Silva II (Martha), Esmeralda Silva, Gilberto Silva (Kristine), Ruby Silva, Maria del Rosario Zamora, Baldemar Garcia†, Elvia Murillo, Dora Garcia, and God-daughter Andrea Moncivaiz.
He is also survived by his siblings: Ofelia Cornejo, David Silva, Mary Silva-Martinez, Esteban Silva, Rogelio Silva, Guadalupe Silva-Aguirre, Jesse Silva, and Yolanda Silva; 35 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Our father was a man of kindness and generosity who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. The Silva family is deeply grateful to the many family members and friends who visited and loved him until the very end. His memory will be cherished forever.
"A light from our household is gone, a voice we loved is still.
A place is vacant in our home which can never be filled.
God gave us a beautiful father, a father who never grew old.
May the choirs of angels receive you, and may you have rest and everlasting peace."
Pallbearers will be Esteban Silva, Jesse Silva, Gilberto Silva, Alejandro Alaniz, Jerry Saldivar Jr., Michael A. Silva, Alex Alaniz Jr., and Gilberto Silva Jr.
A Visitation for Aureliano will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 PM.
A Chapel Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta, with a Burial to follow at 2:00 PM at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Services are under the guidance of Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta & Mont Meta Memorial Park, a Dignity Service Provider.
