

Ann Moss Newton York, 94, of Sandy Springs, GA was born May 16, 1920 in Frankfort, KY and died March 6, 2015 in Flat Rock, NC. Ann was a member of Northwest Presbyterian Church; she was a lover of people, with extraordinary devotion to family and friends. She wrote many personal poems and in church frequently recited from memory The Story of the Other Wise Man, from the time she was 12 years old. Ann was known for reaching out to others with care and entertainment and during her hospice care at home for over a year, she continued to travel, host parties and enjoy life to its fullest. She is survived by children, Jan McNinch; Jim Newton and his wife Sally; Billy Newton; Susan York Lanier and Carol York Corvin and her husband Jerry; Brother, James K. Moss; Grandchildren Emily Murphy, Jamie Newton, Sean Newton, Zachary Newton, Whit Stokes, Crawford Speaks, Britt Lanier, Leigh Lanier Jenkins, Leigh McNinch Kilborn, Hale McNinch and Kelly McNinch Smith plus many nieces, nephews and close cousins. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Northwest Presbyterian Church. Special thanks for the care of friends at Northwest Presbyterian Church, Huntcliff Retirement Center, Weinstein Hospice and Four Seasons Hospice.
