

Annie Lee Glisson Varner passed away January 26, 2014. Annie was predeceased by her Mother and Father, Annie E. and James Glisson, Husband Henry, Brothers Carl, Jeff, J.C., Dub and Charlie, Son Richard, Grandchildren Phillip and Russell, and Great-grandchild Zander. Annie is survived by brother Elex Herbert (Tunney), daughters Mary Ellen Gossett, Eileen Smith, Deana Roland and Mildred Hughes, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Annie was born in Atlanta, Georgia and married William Henry Varner September 6, 1942. Annie worked for the Fulton County Board of Education for 12 years and later owned restaurants in Atlanta and Denver, Colorado that showcased her southern cooking style. In her later years, she and her husband Henry retired to Captiva Island, Florida before moving back to Atlanta just prior to Henry's passing in 1991. Known for her infectious laugh and immense love for her family, she will be greatly missed as she joins her loved ones in heaven. From her children to their parents, “We love you both so very much; you were the best parents ever!” **PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGES** Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. Rev. David Shivers will officiate. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy.
