

The loving, funny, and wickedly smart Clon Chandler “C.C.” Brown, Jr. departed this earth knowing he was deeply loved and cherished by friends and family. With a sharp wit and sometimes raunchy humor, he shared joy and humor with all he met. A world traveler, he was always searching for his next adventure.
Born in Roanoke, Virginia, he was the youngest of 6 siblings of Clon Chandler Brown and Pearl Mae (Morris) Brown. C.C. was a loving husband, Dad, Papaw, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and friend. He is survived by his dearly devoted wife of 60 years, Gwen Brown; daughters, Avalyn Jackson and Kristie Wood; sons-in-law, Brent Jackson and Kyle Wood; grandchildren, Chandler Jackson, Tyler Jackson and Kaitlyn Wood; his treasured nieces and nephews and countless friends.
C.C.’s life was a mosaic of sports, travel adventures and intellect. He attended several schools, including Point Loma Nazarene University and Fresno State where he played both baseball and basketball but ultimately obtained his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at North Carolina State University. After graduating N. C. State he went to work for Western Electric. Later he earned a master’s degree from the business school at Georgia Tech. His career included, Procter & Gamble, IBM, Grid, Wang, and Fujitsu, where he earned many top salesman awards. He always thought of himself as a proud Georgia Tech yellow jacket.
After retirement C.C. And Gwen’s wonderlust for travel took them all over the world on great adventures from African safaris to down under Australian jaunts, Irish whiskey tours and even to see penguins in Patagonia. He loved to take a luxury cruise trip and many times invited friends and family to come along.
His love of sports continued throughout his lifetime, he played semi-pro baseball at Virgilina and continued to play sports throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed coaching his daughters in tennis, watching his grandsons play baseball, lacrosse and football and watching his adoring granddaughter play softball and tennis.
To celebrate Clon’s life, a visitation of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 11:00AM – 1:00PM at the Sandy Springs Chapel,136 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA immediately followed by a graveside service at Arlington Memorial Park.
