Edward Ezekiel Brown, Jr. (lovingly known as “Eddie”) was born on February 12th, 1963, in Kingston, New York to Gloria Jean and Edward Ezekiel Brown, (Sr.). Eddie, a loving, affectionate child, was raised in the small town of Kingston in upstate New York. There, in a home full of love, surrounded by family and friends, he blossomed as a child and participated in all the privileges his hometown had to offer. Be it as a member of the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, YMCA Swim Team, Track Team, Bowling League, Basketball Team or local Little League baseball or softball teams, Eddie was all-in as his many trophies, banners, ribbons, and awards would testify. No matter the day, you could always find Eddie heading to or coming from some sort of event, game or meet. Eddie was a very bright and intelligent student. He attended and graduated from Brigham Elementary School (Kingston, New York), Miller Jr, High School (Lake Katrine, New York), and Kingston High School (Kingston, New York) where he earned numerous awards, accolades, and honors throughout his scholastic career. In 1980, right out of high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. There he performed his service to the nation as a Petty Officer, 2nd Class and, in 1984, he was honorably discharged. After leaving the Navy Eddie would attend the State University of New York at Stonybrook. These efforts, along with additional educational endeavors, would result in Eddie earning dual Associate Degrees (with Honors) in Business and Technology (at the time of his passing, Eddie was just a few credits shy of obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Business and Computer Information Systems, underscoring his passion for life-long learning and position that one must always strive to improve him / herself). In 1986, Eddie set his site out west to California. There, in Los Angeles, he would unite with his brother Craig. Together the two would embark on what would become a ten-year journey of big-city exploration and friendship beyond the bonds of brotherhood. While in Los Angeles, Eddie’s civilian career would include employment with the Warner Lambert corporation. Later, in 1996, Eddie would reunite with his brothers (Craig, Derrick, and Ezekiel) in Atlanta, Georgia where he would obtain employment with the Arthur Andersen corporation. Afterwards, Eddie would remain in Atlanta, Georgia where he enjoyed attending family functions, sporting events, and being surrounded by close family and friends until his passing on March 21st, 2023.
Edward is preceded in death by both of his parents, father, Edward Ezekiel Brown, Sr., mother, Gloria Jean Brown, sister, Elisabeth Jean Brown (Dickens), and brother Brian Brodhead. He leaves behind eight brothers; Lodean Glenn (Annie), Eugene Brodhead (Pearl), Lloyd Brodhead, Darrel Brodhead, Craig Brown, Derrick Brown, Wayne Brodhead (Vanessa), Ezekiel Brown (Allison), and one sister Donna Brodhead, in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Eddie was loved by many and will be missed by all. His never-ending wit, sense of humor, political points of view, swift intellectual commentary, love for God, Family and Friends are things that will be talked about and cherished by his family and friends forever. We Love You Eddie!
