She reunites with her loving husband of 60 years, Dr. Gabriel F. Nassar, who preceded her in death in January of this year.
Born in Cali, Colombia in 1946, Emma, and Dr Gabe called Atlanta home since 1963.
Emma is remembered by many as a merchant and fashionista, and for the creation of Sasha Frisson, a premier couture women’s boutique that brought dazzling European style to our city from 1987-1996.
This incredible influence is still felt today. A champion for many causes, Emma was integral in raising awareness and funding for The Children’s Museum, The International School, Woodward Academy and the Latin American Association.
The quintessential hostess, Emma’s hospitality was legendary. From simple meals with family and friends to epic events, she made them all magical.
She believed in celebrating all life events with abundant feasts, including her signature Lebanese and Columbian dishes. She created a beautiful home, where everyone felt welcome at any time.
Emma dedicated her life to her most treasured accomplishment, her family. Her parents, Hafez and Catalina Cure, and sisters Ivonne and Miriam Cure preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Nassar Werner, and husband Greg Werner, Gabriel F. Nassar Jr. and wife Claudia Varela Rueda, Monika Nassar Smith and husband Zach Smith, and Alexander J. Nassar and wife Melissa Henderson Nassar.
Her grandchildren were her most cherished legacy, she is survived by: Nicolas Bauguss, Christopher Bauguss, Sofia Werner, Gabriella Werner, Antonia Nassar, Samuel Smith, and Santiago Martinez.
She is also survived by her sister Rosemary Cure Bendeck and husband Leonel Bendeck and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Emma profoundly touched so many lives with her elegance and magnetism. She was charismatic and comforting. She was clever and hilariously funny. She was creative and spirited and loved to dance.
She had a generous nature that made you feel like you were the most special person in her world; that gift of herself, she gave to everyone she loved.
A Mass in honor of Emma C. Nassar will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at 12PM
Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Atlanta, with visitation to follow at the Nassar home.
