Gary Melvin Conley

Gary Melvin Conley was born June 20, 1943 in Evergreen Park, IL to the late Judson Henry and Isabel Amy (Mitchell) Conley. He was a graduate of Lyons Township High School in La Grange, IL. He went on to study Television and Radio Production at DeVry Institute of Technology and furthered his education at The College of DuPage with a Degree in Electronics.

Gary worked as an electronics repair technician for several years for Universal Recording Studio in Chicago, Il, Robert Bosch, LLC, Total Audio Visual Services and Barco. Inc.. He was a cat lover and model train enthusiast who enjoyed gardening and playing several instruments, specifically keyboards and guitars and listening to music.

Along with his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Erklin. He is survived by his partner of 38 years, Doane Pressey, Jr.; brother-in-law, Patrick Erklin; nephews, David Erklin and Mark Erklin; nieces, Kelli Erklin and Vikki Meyers and great-nieces and nephews, Michael Meyers, Erin Meyers, Justin Erklin, Robyn Erklin, Summer Erklin and Haley Erklin.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:30am at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy., Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Interment will be held at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Countryside, IL at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s honor to the charity of your choice.
