

John Seifert, age 88 of Atlanta, formally of Reading Pennsylvania entered into God's Kingdom On June 24th 2023.He was born on June 20th 1935, to the late Francis and Pearl Seifert. John graduated from Governor Mifflin High school in Shillington PA. Joining the navy to service his country at a very young age, he spent 4 years as assistant to the Ships Captain on USS Saratoga.
John went on to pursue a career in the fashion industry where he excelled to VP of Gimbals the biggest Dept store in New York City. He had a fabulous career in this industry, met a lot of stars, and was offered positions with huge department stores. He truly was the best in the industry. John had a great eye for fashion and art, he was known for his impeccable style and polished look. Always dressed for the occasion, people would often approach him and tell him how great he looked.
John was also known to be a great dancer, he taught at the Fred Astaire School of Dancing in Miami and was quite the sought after teacher. After retirement at 65, John's pastime was painting. He enjoyed faux painting and decorating, he was very talented. John did a lot of work for some well known people in and around Atlanta. He was known for being one of the best in town. He could transfer an old piece of furniture into a true contemporary work of art.
John’s personality and natural charisma made it easy for him to make friends, no matter the situation. His laugh was infectious to everyone around him. A man of many stories, some factual and others not so factual. John was also affectionately known as the Mayor of Buckhead. He was quite the man in and around Buckhead, always dressed to impress and was known for throwing many parties that turned out to be very memorable.
John was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family and friends. His passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of many. Susie Clark, John’s best friend took care of him for the past 3 years as he struggled through lung disease, he never complained and made the most of his new lifestyle which kept him at home. John has a huge following on Facebook and he kept a smile on everyone’s faces, but never once complained about his struggles.
John is survived by his Brother Francis Seifert; three Sisters Evelyn Kern, Hazel Griffith and Martha Althouse, five nieces, three nephews and his best friend for life Susie Clark.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 3:00 pm from the Chapel of Sandy Springs Chapel Funeral Directors. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Funeral Home.
