Kevin Michael Coughlin

Born March 29, 1957 in Watertown, NY, the son of James M. and Elizabeth H. Coughlin, he was the 4th of 13 children. Kevin attended St. Patrick’s school in Watertown, NY and graduated from Franklin Academy High School in Malone and attended Canton NY ATC College. He excelled in high school athletics, setting two Northern Athletic Conference Track and Field records in a single meet, one of which still stands to this day.

Following college, Kevin worked in the restaurant industry in Lake Placid, NY, moving to Miami, FL for a brief period in the late 1970’s, then relocating to Atlanta as a restaurant manager. He established a medical supply company in the early 1980’s serving hospitals throughout the southeast. Kevin married Sandra Roberson on September 18, 1999, and they loved to travel, attend sporting events, but most of all boating and spending weekends with friends and family (especially grandchildren) on their houseboat on Lake Lanier.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Sandra Roberson of Atlanta, two children, Leslie (Cullen) and Michael (Kathleen), and two grandchildren, Brennan and Lincoln. One sister and ten brothers survive: Barbara of Delmar, NY (John), James Jr. of Wilmington, NC (Lizbeth), John of Tampa, FL (Ann), William of Gig Harbor, WA, Richard of Arlington, VA (Zaya), Robert of Woodbridge, VA (Sonia), Paul of Annandale, VA (Laurie), Francis of Gaithersburg, MD (Mary), Timothy of Malone, NY (Shon), Theodore of Miami, FL, and Thomas of Alpharetta, GA (Lora). Many nieces and nephews also survive.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Alice.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 12 noon at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. A reception will follow at the chapel. Family burial service will be held in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atlanta Mission, St. Jude’s Hospital, or Atlanta Food Bank.
