Loving husband, father and grandfather, Larry Delaney of Sandy Springs, GA passed away July 21st. He is a Ninth Army WWII veteran. As an expert rose hybridizer, he developed and marketed a new Tea rose “Classy Carol”, named after his wife. He volunteered at Community Action Center, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was an active member of St. Jude the Apostle of Sandy Spring GA. He was preceded in death by Carol, his wife of 62 years, and brother Bernard. Larry is survived by brothers Robert (Jean) and James (Rose) Delaney, Sister-in Law Mary (Bernard) Delaney, daughter Colleen Carr, sons Gregory (Jane), Stephen (Martha) and Thomas (Rosanne) Delaney and grandchildren John, Ellen, Patrick, Rachael, Sean and Colin. Visitation will be Wednesday July 25 from 6:00 to 8:00pm, with Rosary at 7:30pm, at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Highway NW, Sandy Springs, GA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday July 26th at 10:00am at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 7171 Glenridge Drive, Atlanta GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Jude Catholic Church.
