

Lilla Fay Smith, 96, of Sandy Springs died Friday, January 20, 2017 in her home from natural causes. She was born in Atlanta January 4, 1921 to Charlie and Lilla Love Cheshire Green and had four sisters and four brothers. She was a trained beautician and with two of her sisters established “Three Sisters” beauty salon which for many years was located in the Decatur Federal building on the square in Decatur, Georgia. When she was 15, she won the title of Miss Savannah. She was a devoted wife and mother, daughter and sister as well as a thoughtful neighbor and friend, always thinking of ways to bless people with a little note or gift in the mail. She enjoyed traveling and was a gracious entertainer in her beautiful home. She is survived by her husband, Sheldon E. Smith, her son Bruce Smith [Lynn], her sisters Ruth Kemlein and Stella Wade, her brother Grady Green and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Jennifer Florence Smith, and her sisters Florence, and Annette and her brothers Charles, Clarence and Raply. The family wishes to thank Landria Alexander and Patricia Graziani and other caregivers for their dedicated care over the last few years.
