Mrs. Smith received a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Samford University. She taught in Clayton County, GA and Irondale, Alabama. She also had her own reading and math program for several years.
Mrs. Smith was active in the Dunwoody Garden Club, The Wyntercreek Book Club, The Winston Churchill Society, and The Prisoner’s Hope Ministry at First Baptist Church of Atlanta.
Mrs. Smith is predeceased by her husband, Hugh Edward Smith, and her brother, James Donald Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Smith, her son, Edward Moore Smith, her granddaughters, Emma Callicutt and Max Monsour, and her sister, Jere Moore Brown.
Graveside services will be held at Arlington Memorial Park, in Sandy Springs, on Tuesday, September 19th at 2:30 PM.
