

Mrs. Virginia Louise Lloyd Hansen, age 80, of Roswell, passed away on April 21, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Duncan Lloyd of Douglasville, Georgia. She graduated from Douglas County High School, attended Wesleyan College in Macon, and graduated from Auburn University.
She taught school in Monroe and East Point, Georgia, before becoming associated with an insurance company in Atlanta. She was then employed for 24 years by The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta. At The Coca-Cola Company, she was hired as a personnel assistant, and then developed and implemented a records management program at the company headquarters. As Manager of Records, she installed the program at other divisions of the company. She was the recipient of several national awards for excellence in records management.
After retirement, she served in many positions of the Atlanta Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. She was an active member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, the Contemporary Sunday School Class, the Diane Mickler Circle, Benson Senior Center, Alpha Chapter of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, and the Martha Bulloch Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, cooking, gardening, reading, square dancing, and other activities involving friends.
She is survived by Richard Edward Hansen, her husband of 34 years, one aunt, and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday April 25, 2017 at Mt. Bethel UMC, 4385 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, with the Reverend Kim McGarr officiating. Burial will follow in the Douglasville City Cemetery.
