Born on December 3, 1941, in Tehran, Iran, Zohreh lived a life rooted in devotion and love. At a young age, she met her lifelong companion, Hassan Bayani (“Pedar Joon”), and together they built a new life—one filled with hope and purpose—so their children could have every opportunity for a brighter future.
In 1979, they made Atlanta, Georgia their home, where they raised four children: Fariba, Farrah, Ramin, and Amir, and later became proud grandparents to nine grandchildren: Shayda, Jazmine, Parisa, Brandon, Zoe, Cameron, Atrena, Bjorn, and Preston—and great-grandparents to one, Zarah.
Zohreh was the heart of her family. Her presence brought peace, her smile could lift any spirit, her love melted our souls, and her cooking—rich with Persian flavor and love—nourished more than just the body. Sunday gatherings around her table meant Pedar Joon at the grill with kebab skewers in hand, and Zohreh Joon preparing the perfect tahdig. These dinners were more than meals—they were family celebrations of love and togetherness that will last in our memories for generations.
Zohreh was the most selfless, caring, and kind-hearted person you could hope to meet. She had a playful sense of humor and radiated warmth in all she did. Those fortunate enough to know her spoke of her with the deepest affection. Her presence brought happiness, her words brought comfort, and her love left a lasting imprint on every heart she touched.
Now reunited with her beloved Pedar Joon, we know they are hand in hand once more, watching over the family they so lovingly built.
The family welcomes all who were touched by her love to join in honoring her life:
