Michael Alexander Klimshuk, 50, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, died on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born January 4, 1962 in Barnstable, Massachusetts, to Barbara (nee Matthews) and the late Alexander Klimshuk. He was a graduate of Dunwoody High School and West Georgia College. He was a parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, where he was Usher Captain for services, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a founding member of Council 11402. He is survived by his mother, Barbara and stepfather, David Evans of Sandy Springs, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Christine Klimshuk of Lawrenceville, GA; sister, Kara Klimshuk of Atlanta, GA; grandmother, Anna Matthews of Sandy Springs, GA; uncle and aunt, Douglas and Kathryn Matthews of Vinings, GA; aunt, Sharon Campbell of Marietta, GA; uncle and aunt, Jeffrey and Sandra Matthews of Sandy Springs, GA; uncle and aunt, Stephen and Nikki Matthews of Burke, VA; uncle and aunt Dorofei and Jane Klimshuk of South Orleans, MA; step-sisters and families of Lori Stanley of Atlanta, GA and Kristin Stone of Alexandria, VA; step-brother and family of Bradley Evans of San Rafael, CA. Michael had many other extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Klimshuk, LCDR, USCG; grandparents, Dorofei and Johanna Klimshuk; and grandfather, Wallace G. Matthews, Col., USAF (retired). Michael was exceptionally kind, thoughtful and generous and he remained so throughout his long illness. We can take comfort that he is now peacefully resting. We will miss him and love him forever. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 2443 Mt. Vernon Road, Dunwoody, Georgia 30338.
