She was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Ritter. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Ritter (age 47), and her grandson, Kavin Ritter (age 17), and her friend/ex-husband, Robert Ritter (age 76).
Pamela (lovingly known as “Pam”), grew up in Deland, FL, as an only child, of 2 wonderful parents, Orville & Irene Stewart, the proud owners of Stewart Pharmacy. Throughout her childhood and teen years, Pam was a very vivacious, energetic girl, who enthusiastically participated in an abundance of activities - such as sports, dancing, cheerleading, aerobics, arts & crafts, sewing/clothing design, and more. Many of these recreations continued to be enjoyed by Pam, throughout her adult life, as well.
After graduating from Deland High School, Pam went on to study Clothing and Textiles at Auburn University, where she met and fell in love with Robert Ritter. After college graduation, the couple went on to marry and have 2 children, Ryan and Stephanie Ritter. Pam was a very sweet, joyful, loving wife & mother, who had a very bright & pleasant demeanor. Some of her most special qualities, as a mother, were her incredible patience, forgiving nature and unmatched ability to love whole-heartedly and unconditionally. She was truly a beautiful person, both on the inside, and the outside (nothing short of a gorgeous blonde bombshell)!
Pam had a positive impact on those around her, as she stayed smiling, laughing, affectionate, and happy. Pam invariably spoke about how delightful everything was: from how delicious the food & drinks tasted, to how cute an outfit or hairstyle was, to how much fun she was having, to how beautiful and nice a person was, and to how much she just loved this and relished that! There was never a negative opinion, or word, to be uttered or shared by Pam. There were only good things to be said, as she spread kindness, compliments, and warmth, to everyone she came into contact with.
In her professional life, Pam had a long and successful career in Residential Property Management. She was adored by all of the residents, and staff, of every apartment community she managed. While Pam practiced professionalism and excellent work ethic, she always treated others with great compassion and generosity. It was so easy for the people in Pam’s circles to love and appreciate her, for the way she so genuinely cared about everyone she came across.
In the early 2000’s, while managing multiple properties in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Pam got remarried, to Samuel Medina. “Sam and Pam” spent several years in Florida, and often liked to go out dancing with friends and listen to country music. Pam cherished her pets, her job, her family, and her life.
After her mother passed away, in 2008, Pam relocated back to Georgia, to be closer to her kids, and her grandson. Not long after moving to Dallas, GA, Pam’s short-term memory began to show signs of early-onset Alzheimer’s. The disease progressed very slowly, over the following 13 to 14 years, before becoming debilitating, by age 75. While residing at a nursing home, in Powder Springs, GA, Pam contracted pneumonia and passed away a week later. Even in her last days, when she could no longer remember much of anything, she had remained cheerful and upbeat.
Pam will forever be remembered for her sweet, happy & positive approach to everything and everyone. Her enormous heart was a ray of sunshine that lifted up the hearts of those that had the pleasure of being in her company. To know Pam, as a person, was an absolute honor. To be loved by Pam, was a treasure, to be cherished forever. And to be the daughter of my beautiful mother, Pamela Sue Ritter - the most gentle and loving soul that I have ever known - is truly a gift from God, that will be greatly esteemed, for all of eternity.
***A Memorial to celebrate Pam’s life will be held by family and friends, in the near future, when an agreed upon date is set. An urn with her ashes will be collected from Sandy Springs Chapel and kept in the home of her daughter, Stephanie, and placed next to the urn holding the ashes of Pam’s son, Ryan. In lieu of sending flowers, if you wish to honor and commemorate Pamela Ritter, please send donations to a cause that is near and dear to Pam’s loved ones: The Alzheimer’s Association.
