

Philip Luther Hildreth, Jr. died Thursday, October 22, 2015. He was born in Jacksonville, FL. January 20, 1944. After the war, the family moved back to Georgia. Phil graduated from Northside High School in Atlanta and the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity and became a big Georgia Bulldog fan as evidenced by his love for and association with “the WHATS Society”. Philip is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Harriett, two stepsons, Robert Wright, Lisa, of Atlanta and James McDaniel Wright, Karen of Auburn, AL, four children, Philip L. Hildreth III, Jillian of South Carolina, Thaddeus Hildreth , Susan of Atlanta, Robert L. Hildreth, Sarah, of California and Mary Helen Marshall, Justin, of Atlanta. Together he and Harriett have twelve (12) joyous grandchildren who loved their PaPa. He is also survived by his sister Helen Hildreth Garrett, Tom of Brentwood TN, and brothers and sisters-in-law Marguerite Wood, Stuart and Sarah McDaniel, George and Mary Sue McDaniel. Philip loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and cooking out with his family and friends. A graveside service will be held at Arlington Cemetery at 12 o’clock on Sunday, October 25. Arlington Cemetery is located at 201 Mount Vernon Highway, Atlanta, GA 30328.
