Sandra Jenkins Harbuck

Sandie was born on March 17, 1943 in Atlanta GA to her parents Doug Jenkins and Polly Jenkins. She is an Atlanta native and graduate of Druid Hills High School, Class of 1961. She attended Cumberland College and completed her Bachelors and Masters in Education at Ga State University. She spent 15 years as an Educator with Dekalb County School System in Atlanta GA teaching Business at Towers High School. She retired in 1998. She and late husband Jim Harbuck retired to Blairsville GA. In Blairsville she enjoyed teaching seniors at the OASIS program at the First Methodist Church in Blairsville and playing cards with friends.

Sandie is survived by her children Glenda Harbuck Smoot (Terry) and Michael Harbuck (Christy); grandchildren, Christopher Smoot, Garrett, Nicholas and Neena Harbuck; sisters, Cathy Jenkins, Barbara Wasson and brother, Reid Jenkins (Barbara); nephew, Derrek Wasson (Holly); numerous cousins and friends.

The family will celebrate Sandie privately at a later date and asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be directed to The Skin Cancer Foundation (give.skincancer.org).
